Event: Garment Technology Bangladesh (GTB)
Location: Expo Village, ICCB, Bashundhara, Dhaka
Dates: January 14–17, 2026
GTB Dhaka 2026 was a milestone moment for us at KnitOne. This was our first major event in Bangladesh and one of the most important steps we have taken toward understanding this market—not through assumptions or reports, but through real conversations on the ground.
While GTB is not a knitwear-specific exhibition, the four days in Dhaka were deeply insightful. They helped us better understand how the Bangladesh garment industry operates, how decisions are made, and what manufacturers genuinely expect from technology partners.
Seeing the Market as It Is
One of the strongest learnings from GTB was the clear divide in digital maturity. We spoke to manufacturers who are still not using any ERP or structured software at all. At the same time, many factories are using software but are clearly struggling with it—systems that don’t align with their processes, tools that solve only parts of the problem, and constant workarounds to make generic ERPs function in a knitwear environment.
These conversations reinforced a belief we strongly hold: the market doesn’t need more software—it needs software that truly understands the business.
What Knitwear-Specific Really Means
When we say KnitOne is knitwear-specific, it goes far beyond positioning. Implementing an ERP typically involves extensive business process mapping, heavy change management, and long consultancy cycles just to make the system usable. With KnitOne, nearly 80% of this work is already done, because knitwear processes are pre-built into the platform.
Explaining this to visitors at our booth strengthened our confidence in how we position KnitOne—not just as another ERP, but as a premium, end-to-end solution. While many systems focus on isolated functions, KnitOne is designed to support the entire knitwear manufacturing lifecycle.
Learning Before Scaling
GTB also helped us see clearly where the market is evolving—and where existing solutions are falling short. One of the most consistent responses we received was around UI/UX and ease of use. Compared to many competing systems, KnitOne stood out as more intuitive and easier to adopt, without compromising depth or capability.
We also observed a strong shift in leadership mindset. A new generation of factory leaders in Bangladesh is actively driving digital transformation. They are open to adopting new technologies, questioning legacy systems, and investing in solutions that support long-term growth rather than short-term fixes.
At the same time, the event highlighted why many solutions fail. Local software and generic ERPs often have low success rates because they cannot handle the complexity of knitwear manufacturing. Even premium platforms such as SAP and Microsoft Dynamics, while powerful, are not built for this niche and require heavy customization to fit real operational needs.
One insight that stood out strongly from conversations with factory owners was this: collecting data is no longer the biggest challenge. Many factories already have ERPs, yet owners still struggle to get meaningful management insights. They have data, but not visibility. Reports exist, but they don’t always support data-driven decision-making. Bridging this gap between data and insight is where we believe KnitOne delivers real value.
Conversations That Matter
GTB was also an important platform for building relationships. We connected with established industry players and vendors from multiple countries, gaining exposure to global manufacturing trends and different market approaches.
Even more encouraging was the quality of feedback from visitors who were genuinely interested in KnitOne. They shared what they liked, what they expected, and what they would want to see in future versions. These were honest, practical conversations that helped us validate direction and identify opportunities for improvement.
Being invited for factory visits was a significant win. It showed trust and real intent, and it moved conversations beyond the exhibition floor toward tangible next steps.
A Strong Beginning
Overall, GTB Dhaka 2026 was a successful and confidence-building experience for our team. It validated our product direction, challenged us to refine how we approach the Bangladesh market, and opened doors to meaningful, long-term relationships.
More than anything, it marked the beginning of a long-term journey—one grounded in listening, learning, and building solutions that genuinely support the knitwear industry.
